At the workshop titled “Solutions for Developing a National Refining and Energy Hub in Dung Quat Economic Zone”, participants from government agencies, research institutions, and local authorities shared a common view that the Dung Quat Refinery will serve as the core of the national refining and energy hub to be developed in the Dung Quat Economic Zone (the “Hub”).

On April 6, in Da Nang, PetroVietnam Oil Corporation (PVOIL) and Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (BSR) jointly held a conference to review the implementation of the petroleum product offtake contract in Q1 2026, while discussing solutions to stabilize supply, enhance value chain integration, and accelerate biofuel development, contributing to national energy security.

Vietnam Central Biofuels Joint Stock Company (BSR-BF), the operator of the Dung Quat Biofuel Plant, is targeting to bring the plant to 100% capacity by mid-April 2026, ensuring maximum supply of ethanol (E100) for E10 gasoline blending.

Amid the complex developments in the Middle East, which have led to significant fluctuations in global petroleum and aviation fuel demand and even potential localized shortages, Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (BSR), the operator of the Dung Quat Refinery, has proactively implemented technical solutions to optimize operations, prioritizing the maximum production of Jet A-1 aviation fuel to ensure stable domestic supply.

Amid the accelerating global energy transition, coupled with increasing demands for innovation and sustainable development, closer collaboration between enterprises and universities, training, and research institutions is considered a key solution to enhance workforce quality and national competitiveness.

At a working session with Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (BSR), Acting Minister of Industry and Trade Le Manh Hung requested the company to focus on optimizing operations and securing feedstock to ensure readiness in supplying petroleum products to the market.
