On August 10, Petrovietnam Refining and Petrochemical Corporation (BSR), a member company of Petrovietnam, held a workshop on EPC Contract Management for the Dung Quat Refinery Upgrading and Expansion Project. The workshop focused on updating participants on the latest legal regulations and sharing practical experience from major EPC projects in the refining and petrochemical industry.

BSR’s issuance of a Request for Proposal (RfP) for financing the Dung Quat Oil Refinery Expansion and Upgrade Project marks a critical transition from technical preparation to capital mobilization for a nationally important energy project. The proposed loan of about USD 600 million, equivalent to 40% of total investment, is designed not only to secure construction progress but also to optimize funding costs, allocate risk and bring the project closer to international financing standards.

On August 6, 2026, at the Dung Quat Refinery, Petrovietnam Refining and Petrochemical Corporation (BSR) officially shipped its first batch of B5 biodiesel (DO B5) produced at the refinery to two customers: Military Petroleum General Company One Member Limited Liability Company and Nam Phuc Investment Joint Stock Company.

The commissioning of a new 65,000-cubic-meter crude oil storage tank has increased the total crude oil storage capacity of Dung Quat Refinery from approximately 520,000 cubic meters to 585,000 cubic meters, representing a 12.5% increase. The new facility not only expands the refinery’s storage capacity but also strengthens feedstock security, enhances operational flexibility, and contributes to Vietnam’s national energy security.

The signing of the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Contract and the Project Management Consultancy (PMC) Contract for the Dung Quat Refinery Upgrade and Expansion Project marks a significant milestone, officially launching the implementation phase following a comprehensive preparation process that fulfilled all legal, technical, technological and investment resource requirements.

As part of the official working visit of the leadership delegation of Vietnam National Industry and Energy Group (Petrovietnam) to Thailand and Singapore from May 27 to May 31, 2026, Mr. Bui Ngoc Duong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petrovietnam Refining and Petrochemical Corporation (BSR), actively participated in and made significant contributions to regional business and technology forums. His engagements further highlighted BSR’s pioneering role in digital transformation, innovation, advanced technology development, and sustainable energy transition.
